Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey is stepping down as chief of the social media company, effective immediately. Parag Agrawal, Twitter’s chief technology officer, will take over the helm, the company said Monday.

Bad news for $twtr I always feel like Twitter is valuable because Jack Dorsey is there, if he's gone I am not sure if the valuation can be justified. The price action today for Twitter also seem to say that. Twitter price went down 12% from high of the day and it is literally full 7.5 hours of selling.

Also, it's not apparent what else Twitter can still do from now on. I know the changed their web UX a bit and added some tipping functionality but other than that I don't see much changes in the couple of years. And, a lot of times, founder leaving is like innovation would stop right there. Maybe it will continue to be a good business but that's the end of their innovation story.

This might be a good news for $sq now he can focus on Square full-time though if he likes.

According to them they rolled out three new monetization products for creators: Tips, Super Follows, and Ticketed Spaces. This means they're on track of making sure everyone benefits from the community, which I think is a good approach.

Their DAU is up almost 13% yoy, revenue is up over 30% yoy. Also, according to them they're not really impacted by the Apple IDFA restrictions. This might be a good knife to catch in the next while.

Snap earnings is going to impact Facebook and other social networks

Snap dropped almost 30% in after-hour trading on earnings day. According to them the privacy change thing in Apple hurts them in a way that they missed their revenue estimate and their next quarter revenue guidance. Even though their revenue is only missing by 3% the stock drops an 26.66% at close unexpectedly.

Since Facebook business model is also based on using your privacy and use it to generate ads revenue I can imagine it would also be hit hard in the coming earnings call. And that automatically implies that other social networks or ads services would perform in a similar way. If Facebook hadn't take that part of revenue impact into consideration and then that means 3% revenue miss might also give you a 30% drop. That is another 25% if you count Friday as day 1 of drop.

Everything dropped hard on Friday. Buckle up, this is gonna be a bumpy ride.

Twitter drops 11% in after-hour trading. Maybe it's because Donald Trump is not there anymore. $TWTR

People are overreacting and panicked. A bounce would likely happen soon.

Trump would be in office for another 4 years. And to me that's a good enough reason to invest in this company. ................

I see people spending less and less time on Facebook. The thing about Facebook is I’m getting more ads and political opinions from people I don’t really care about and I’m not happy about selling my privacy for baby photos and those so sorry I don’t see further growth for Facebook in the longer term. On the other hand at least I know what I’m getting at. $fb $twtr
